Written in the light of a toothache I have had for a week, which is now sorted!

Tooth in constant agony,
Overbearing pain nagging me.
Only a dentist can sort this out,
The slightest noise makes my teeth shout.
Hot or cold things only aggravate,
And along comes the pain I really hate.
Called on the dentist to help with the pain,
Hours later it’s starting to wane,
Everything’s harmony in my mouth again!

Poems are a mysterious thing,
Obvious all kinds of feelings they bring.
Every kind of subject matter covered,
Their meanings all soon to be discovered.
Rhyme or not to rhyme,
You can read them again time after time.

Tired I am but cannot sleep,
Insomnia is beginning to creep.
Red and blurry are my eyes,
Ever waiting for sleep to arise.
Deep sleep slowly comes to my surprise.

Monday is the start of the week,
Only people seem to think it’s bleak.
No one wants to get out of bed,
Duvet goes up around their head.
Alarm clock rings, you get up and start the day,
You know that the weekend isn’t far away.

My First attempt at an Acrostic Poem

Autumn leaves begin to fall,
Until then trees stand naked and tall.
The hues of orange, yellow and red,
Under trees that look like they’re dead.
More changes in winter are on the way,
Now it’s getting colder every day.
